The South Carolina Permit Technicians Association is a non-profit organization that was formed to support Permit Technicians by providing training and education for building codes, state license requirements, and other topics relevant to the permit technician profession.

The association has statewide memberships.  It is governed by officers elected by the members of the association.  There is a representative from each region within the state including Coastal, Central, Upper State, and Tri-County.

Meetings are held three times a year including the annual meeting, which at this time is held in May in conjunction with the Building Officials Association of South Carolina.

 

Our Mission

 

Our mission is to encourage acquiring certification as a Permit Technician; support, organize and participate in educational seminars and training programs relating to practices, procedures, administration and enforcement of permitting activities; and to be contributing members of the International Code Council and to pursue uniformity in code interpretations, administration and enforcement.
