Some of you may be asking what is ‘Spotlight the Permit Technician’ (STPT) all about?? Honestly, it is a committee with a mission much like what Permit Technician chapters in ICC have all been working on for years, to raise the profile of our chosen profession. President Jack Applegate of Region II (AK, WA, OR, ID, MT, WY), who has been a vocal supporter of the PT and knows what these incredible professionals can achieve, established this committee in Nov 2017. STPT, while still in it’s infancy, has a mission to not only raise the awareness of the PT at a regional level, but has a goal which coincides with PTNs mission of raising the PT profile at national level. By working together to form partnerships to accomplish tasks and goals, we can accomplish much and just might see an accelerated growth of acceptance as Code Officials.
